The truth is, not all paints are created equal, and each type is designed to do a specific job. That’s why we use a mix of products, depending on what we’re painting and what kind of finish you want.
So – what types of paint do we use?
Here’s a quick overview of the common ones we use every day:

Ceiling paint – Usually a flat finish that hides imperfections and gives a clean, non-reflective look.

Wall paint – Typically low sheen or matte, which gives a nice soft finish while still being wipeable for most rooms.

Enamel or semi-gloss – Often used on woodwork and trims like doors, skirting boards, and window frames. It’s durable and easy to clean.

Bathroom and kitchen paints – Specially formulated to handle moisture and resist mould or steam damage.

Primers and sealers – These go on first to help the top coats stick properly, especially on bare surfaces or problem areas.
We also choose different products depending on whether we’re painting plasterboard, timber, previously painted surfaces, or brand-new walls.
What brands do we use?
We work with all the major paint brands available in New Zealand – Resene, Dulux, Wattyl, and others. Every brand has a full range of paint types, and we’re happy to use the one you prefer.
That said, we do have our favourites – certain products we trust because we’ve seen how well they hold up over time, especially in Christchurch conditions.
What if you’ve already picked a brand or colour?
That’s totally fine. If you’ve already chosen your colours or want to stick to a particular brand, we’ll follow your lead. Our job is to make sure the right paint is used for each surface so it goes on well and lasts.
